Conceitos fundamentais da sociologia de Durkheim

Abstract

This article tries to specify the main conceptual tools for the social theory formulated by one of the founders of modern sociology, the French Emile Durkheim. It also tries to show that positivism — the epistemologic basis of which Durkheim was also one of the creators — is expressed in some branches of the so called post-modern thought which, like Durkheim, sees human action almost completely imprisoned in social restrictions.
