Abstract

Nicolò Machiavelli (1469-1527), the well-known Florentine thinker, has not rarely been the object of sharp distortions. This article, assuming that the above mentioned author introduced the conception of State into political thought, tries to examine briefly the relation between politics and power in his work. This leads us to the question of the use of violence in the political ground, a topic of great interest nowadays.
