Sesqüicentenário da Revolução Liberal
Abstract
The author records the celebration of the sesquicentennial of the Liberal Revolution of 1842 under the leadership of Rafael Tobias de Aguiar and with the participation of people such as the “mineiro” Teófilo Otoni. He stresses the role of the “paulista” town of Sorocaba in the episode and the civic bravery of those who wrote this page of the history of the country. lt concerns a historical event involving conservative and liberal people, and deserves to have its causes and meanings evaluated, in order to occupy a rightful space in the civic calendar of the History of Brazil.
