A família como agente socializador
as famílias e as relações de gênero
Abstract
Taking family as a historical phenomenon (which has gone through changes and will go on changing), as a human manifestation in process, and as a socializing agent, this text intends, although briefly, to focus on the gender relationships within a family. It also discusses the origin of the burgeois nuclear fa-mily in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, a European standard imposed on us by the Portuguese colonists, which has remained idealized up to our days, and is even represented in textbooks, especially those used in the early stages of elementary schools.
