Crescimento inicial de Tabebuia Chrysotricha Mart e Tabebuia avellanedae Lor
Ex Griseb. submetidas a diferentes regimes de luz
Abstract
In recent years, great concern is directed towards the regeneration of degraded areas with the use of native arboreal species. Knowing that light influence is a key factor in the regeneration process that occurs during secondary succession, this study attempts to gather informations about the influence of three different light regimens on two species of Tabebuia. Light regimens were determined by the phytocrome photoequilibrium (Smith, 1986), through the use of a spectroradiometer (LI-COR 1800). Treatments consisted in values of phytocrome photoequilibrium 0.6 for full sun, 0.4 for partial shade and 0.2 for shade. 20 individuals were used in each treatment. Data on height, steam diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, dry weight and survival of the individuals
were also recorded. Both species of Tabebuia showed better growth in full sun, for each parameter analyzed. In shade treatment, a low survival was observed for Tabebuia avellanedae (20%), and null survival for Tabebuia chrysotricha.
