This article analyzes the effects of GAI- Generative Artificial Intelligence- on contemporary forms of perception, language, and symbolic connection. Based on an interdisciplinary approach—drawing from philosophy, semiotics, and sociology—the study explores the collapse of critical and sensitive perception amidst the informational saturation of digital media, particularly in the context of the so-called “dead internet.” Using Generation Z as a paradigmatic expression of a new cultural sensibility, the paper discusses the transformation of authorship regimes, the dissolution of the public sphere, and the blurred boundaries between human and machine in meaning-making processes. This research investigates inflection points between classical models of reason and emerging aesthetic experiences shaped by technology. In the midst of symbolic emptiness, the concept of re-enchantment of the world (Maffesoli) is presented as a potential response—restoring presence, shared language, and affective bonds. The analysis seeks to foster a critical reflection on the role of culture, ethics, and communication in mediating the impacts of artificial intelligence, and emphasizes the urgency of symbolic reconfiguration in an era of perceptual collapse.
