Abstract

This article aims to conduct a panoramic analysis of scientific-academic publications on Brazilian serial comic television fiction, with a special focus on the genre known as sitcom. The methodology employed was exploratory research, aiming to construct a state of the art on this subject. The selection of the most relevant works was based on a search for keywords related to the subject, followed by an exploratory reading of their abstracts to collect the most pertinent ones for the study at hand. Three of these works were chosen for a more in-depth analysis, contributing to compose a comprehensive overview of national academic studies on sitcoms and identify existing gaps in this field.
