This article aims to analyze the relationship between media, adolescence, and necropolitics. Drawing from Achille Mbembe's concept of necropolitics (2018) and in dialogue with Raúl Zaffaroni's concept of media criminology (2012), it seeks to understand how the sensationalist TV show "Cidade 190" constructs narratives that contribute to the legitimization of political actions or omissions that result in exclusion and ultimately determine who can remain alive or must die. A total of 202 pieces of content from the "Cidade 190" program in the years 2018 and 2021 were analyzed to identify the recurring approach regarding adolescents associated with criminal acts, particularly within the discourse presented by the hosts during the broadcast, given the high mortality rate among this social group in Ceará. The study observed the construction of narratives that violate the rights of vulnerable adolescents.
