Teacher training and the organization of pedagogical work
challenges on the education of ASD students

This paper aims to analyze the relationship between teacher training and the formation of pedagogical work (FPW) directed to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) of the early years of the municipal elementary schools from Francisco Beltrão, in the state of Parana, Brazil. It is a qualitative study with bibliographical research, document and data analysis from questionnaires and interviews. Following the analysis of the questionnaires answered by teachers, restricted to those who have students with autism, it presents its criteria for the selection of its interviewees. Thus, it breaks down two categories: “continuing training” and “organization of pedagogical work”. It concludes that there exists a discontinuity in the proposals of continuing training courses with the participation of some teachers. It shows implications of this institutional practice for the FPW directed towards students with ASD, bringing about the development of isolated didactical strategies without considering everyone involved in the training-educational process of these students.
