An analysis of the speeches of physical education teachers on pedagogical work

Abstract

The objective was to analyze the speeches of Physical Education teachers about the pedagogical work they carry out in a municipal network in the interior of RS. For data production, a semi-structured interview was carried out with 14 teachers from the Network of a municipality in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul. The interviews were analyzed with reference to the categories of Dialectical Historical Materialism: totality, historicity, contradiction, mediation and praxis. The content categories were also considered: Pedagogical work, Senses and Physical Education. It was understood that teachers produce the meanings of pedagogical work through the description of challenges and possibilities, through which they become teachers. Therefore, the production of the meanings of pedagogical work occurs from the dialectical relationship between work, meanings and becoming a teacher, in a continuous movement that occurs within the school during pedagogical work.
