Abstract

This work is based on research developed in the Postgraduate Program in Education and Culture (PPGEDUC) at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) in 2021, where an approach was made to the pedagogical practices of teachers of SOME in a riverside location in the municipality of Cametá in the state of Pará. For the preparation of this article, our objective was to present an analysis carried out on secondary education in the Amazon, in particular the Modular Education Organization System (SOME) in the context of young people riverside students from Pará. As methodological procedures we used bibliographical research, anchored in a qualitative approach, with an investigative case study method, as a data collection instrument we used observation and semi-structured interviews with teachers, students, community representatives and pedagogical coordinator at a school in community of Parurú de Baixo in the municipality of Cametá, to explore and better understand social reality we use content analysis as a support technique. Given the theoretical contributions and the reports of the interviewees, our studies showed that secondary education in the countryside, specifically in the location investigated, has not been offered satisfactorily because quality education does not materialize with few investments, without sufficient logistical and infrastructural support. And especially in inappropriate environments where the educational process does not arouse the student's interest.
