We live in the digital age, which confirms the relevance of so-called informal learning, which occurs outside of school (or in school itself), outside of the official curriculum. It is therefore necessary to consider to what extent a given environment influences or does not influence the formation of values in an individual. In this context, where the sources institutionally and historically intended for education are undergoing changes, what is the role of schools today, if information, technical content and theoretical knowledge are available to everyone on the internet? Today, what deserves attention is also teaching individuals how to use the internet, developing their ability to analyze and filter information, ultimately developing critical thinking. Based on the assumptions of ancient and contemporary authors and philosophers such as Aristotle, Plato, Rousseau, Jaeger, among others, we seek to understand a little more about the issues related to the formation of values in young people in the context of social networks.
