Abstract

This paper aims to achieve two central goals: to introduce, analytically, an overview of research concerning college alumni, emphasizing studies from the Brazilian academic context, and to raise awareness about the contributions of a psychosocial approach to investigations conducted in this field of study. In Brazil, consistent awareness about the importance of this kind of investigation has been recent. However, research in terms of theoretical and conceptual discussions concerning this topic still isn’t enough to support and guide other studies focused on comprehending alumni’s professional experiences. This paper intends to bring contributions that would help overcome such shortcomings as it is set as a starting point to researchers concerned with studying college alumni from a psychosocial perspective.
