This article presents reflections on the reality and challenges in education in light of Edgar Morin's Theory of Complexity (father of complexity), especially regarding interdisciplinarity. Complexity by Edgar Morin (father of complexity), especially regarding interdisciplinarity.It is about of a qualitative research, with bibliographic and documentary review.The research aims to objective to bring the main characteristics of interdisciplinarity under the Theory of Complexity, in addition there is a brief summary on transdisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity, and pluridisciplinarity, aiming to clarify how they correlate with each other.We present a brief genesis of the theory and the main epistemological contexts in which it is embedded, we provide a brief note about the three principles that are used to explain: the dialogical, the recursive, and the holographic.We seek to discuss here possible contexts that complexity theory presents about the realities and challenges in education regarding interdisciplinarity.We conclude with the premise that knowledge is interconnected and that if perceived as such, there will be better improvement in the teaching of each subject.
