Assuming the power of images in geographic education, we aim to explore how the proliferation of digital images in educational environments has reshaped the corpus of images considered relevant to Geography teaching. Departing from a brief analysis of Geography’s visual character and the conformation of its corpus of images, we analyse the new practices and tasks that teachers construct to deal with the introduction of digital images. Finally, we focus on a specific support for their inclusion: Power Point slides. We trace the continuities that these digital projections have in the history of geography teaching to argue that they are part of school geography’s disciplinary code. We describe the new uses and advantages they assume in the current context of virtual and bimodal education. This analysis is based on interviews and teaching materials provided by teachers from two Geography Teacher Training Colleges in Córdoba city (Argentina): the Instituto de Educación Superior Simón Bolívar and the Instituto Superior del Profesorado Antonio Sobral.
