Abstract

This article aims to present the production of the Atlas Tátil do Estado de Sergipe (Tactile Atlas of the State of Sergipe), discussing the methodological procedures involved in the creation of tactile maps and the applications of these representations in the Geography teaching process, aiming at multisensory and inclusive learning for basic school students. Considering that tactile maps are teaching resources for visually impaired and normal-sighted students, and require a methodological process for their creation, this essay focuses on the elements of Tactile and School Cartography. Based on a literature review, it addresses the methodology, functionality and accessibility contained in a tactile atlas, with the intention of disseminating the use of cartographic materials and demonstrating how Geography students and teachers can have benefits from them in the classroom.
