the daily work of female primary and secondary education teachers in local newspapers in the decade of 1950

The present work aims to analyze the daily work of female primary and secondary education teachers published in local newspapers in the decade of 1950, marked by the national development project. Since documentary research is the founding activity of the methodological path, the newspaper “Folha do Norte” was used as a source, which had a strong popular influence during the decade of the nineteen fifties and is microfilmed at Fundação Cultural do Pará (FCP). Through these journalistic notes collected, were addressed themes of wage claims, daily demands, the relationship between teachers and management, professional training and the prestige/honors that teachers received for their work. It’s concluded that this research becomes a contribution to studies focused on women in Pará’s education, it’s possible, through the analysis of this daily labor, to give visibility to these historical agents that constitute education.
