The case study, with a qualitative approach, was guided by the assumptions of dialectical historical materialism. After the bibliographic and documentary phase of the research, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the participation of pedagogical coordinators of the schools of the State Network of Mato Grosso do Sul that offered Elementary Education in the municipality of Três Lagoas, MS. The results were analyzed, observing the technique of Content Analysis. The theoretical foundation contributes to authors of historical-critical pedagogy. As a result, it was found that the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) as a product of neoliberal education has guided the elaboration of other documents from its bases, such as the Reference Curriculum of Mato Grosso do Sul, it was also observed that the BNCC generated expectations to the group addressed in the research, even though they are unaware of the intricacies of the curriculum policy, however there are uncertainties in relation to the implementation of the CRMSEF.
