This article is an excerpt from a master's degree research that aimed to understand the challenges imposed during the pandemic, to educators, families and children at a public school in Rio Claro, in Early Childhood Education, in 2021, through the eyes of the pedagogical coordinator who focused on about events experienced in this context, developed a narrative research into the experience and considered her digital notebook as empirical material. This work aims to understand the meaning of the teaching profession in the context of the collective of that school. That year, classes were suspended and the Secretaria Municipal de Educação de Rio Claro decided to offer activities for children to carry out in their homes, which brought to light some challenges and the use of different strategies. We conclude that teachers need to legitimize their status as education professionals.
