Abstract

This investigation addresses the context of Brazilian professional education based on the proposal to expand the Federal Professional Education Network. In this scenario, the objective was to analyze the way in which the organizational culture of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) is being reconfigured, through the proposal to expand professional education in Brazil. To this end, based mainly on discussions about school culture and school organizational culture, a qualitative study was developed using the case study method. To collect the data, documentary research was carried out using official and technical documents. The results obtained suggest that the expansion process of the Brazilian Federal Professional Education Network is permeated by (neo)liberal proposals, of a managerial nature, which makes it stand out, among the variables of school organizational culture, that focused on values and organizational norms.
