Foundations and practices for lifelong learning in the Brazilian common core curriculum of early childhood education

Abstract

This bibliographical study of an exploratory nature aims to analyze how the Brazilian Common Core Curriculum for K-12 Education (BNCC) structures early childhood education to promote skills and essential attitudes for Lifelong Learning. The results indicate that the document, through learning rights and fields of experience, offers children opportunities to explore, learn and develop fully through meaningful experiences, respecting their singularities and promoting autonomy, which are fundamental elements for lifelong learning. For this to happen, it is crucial that there is greater investment in teacher training, the establishment and expansion of collaborative partnerships between families and communities to enrich educational experiences, the use of formative assessments to adjust pedagogical strategies to children's needs, and the creation of stimulating environments that encourage curiosity and interactivity for all children without distinction.
