The article analyzes policies on access, permanence and completion in higher education for indigenous peoples, approaching them as a reflection of historical struggles for inclusion and equity. Through theoretical research, it examines the influence of neoliberal policies, which often promote exclusion, in contrast to public policies aimed at democratizing higher education. The aim is to highlight the importance of interculturality in education and the need to integrate indigenous knowledge and perspectives into university curricula in order to address cultural diversity and strengthen social justice. The study points out that by incorporating indigenous knowledge and ways of learning, educational institutions can contribute to reducing systemic inequalities, promoting an inclusive and plural academic environment. It concludes that the implementation of intercultural educational policies is essential to building a more equitable and sustainable society in which cultural differences are valued and respected.
