Supervised internship and research in teaching management and coordination and the continuous education of pedagogical supervisors

Abstract

The present text – found in the field of political studies – aims to analyze the Licentiate in Pedagogy’s mandatory element of curriculum “Supervised internship in teaching management and coordination” and the way it contributes to the continuous education of the pedagogical supervisors who work in primary and secondary education. This research had the collaboration of four pedagogical supervisors as we looked to understand their formative process. The present analysis relies on our               understanding that these supervised internships have been contributing to both the education of future licentiates and the continuous education of the pedagogical supervisors at work in those schools. Our results show that, by welcoming the interns and declaring their own participation in their research, the working pedagogical supervisors commit to a collective learning movement. They discuss with their peers and search for information and knowledge that permeate the theme of the research – all of which contributes for their conscious and ongoing continuous education throughout the entire process.
